What types of sessions do you offer?
I offer both outdoor Smoky Mountain sessions and indoor studio sessions, each tailored to your family’s story. For outdoor sessions, I photograph couples, families, and maternity sessions, capturing natural, playful, and genuine moments in the fresh mountain air. In the studio, I photograph family sessions, maternity, and milestone sessions using soft, natural light to create warm, heartfelt images.
Do you shoot weddings?
I do not shoot weddings.
What time do the sessions take place?
My outdoor photos always happen at sunset. I do not shoot at mid-day due to my style. It is often later than babies/toddlers bedtimes so be prepared to alter your nap schedule on your session date if you fear your child may be tired by sunset. I promise that it will be worth it!

Where does the photo session take place?
Outdoor sessions are held on Foothills Parkway, just outside of Townsend, where you’ll find beautiful Smoky Mountain views and the dreamiest sunset light. It’s one of my favorite spots for capturing families, maternity, and couples.
Studio sessions take place in my in home studio in Maryville, Tennessee. It’s a simple, light filled space with a neutral feel. Perfect for maternity, milestone, and family sessions when you want something more calm and cozy.
Do we need a parking pass for a smoky mountain outdoor session
Yes! All outdoor sessions in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park require a valid park entrance/parking pass. Once you have that, we can explore easy access overlooks - perfect for relaxed, playful family photos in the fresh mountain air.
Where can we get a park entrance/parking pass?
You can purchase a park entrance pass online, at the visitor center, or at park entrance stations. A daily pass works for your session, or an annual pass is great if you plan to visit often. Just bring your pass with you, keep it visible in your vehicle, and we’re ready to capture your family enjoying the fresh mountain air!
What should we wear for our family session?
I guide every family through styling and prep so you look coordinated and feel confident. Think comfortable layers, colors that complement the season, and shoes that are safe for walking outdoors.
Do you offer a client closet?
My client currently closet has a selection of free-size women's gowns that can be worn as both maternity and non-maternity. This caters to both expecting mothers who want to showcase their beautiful baby bumps and women who aren't pregnant but still want to feel glamorous and confident during their photoshoot. I also offer a selection of girls outfits and boys up to 5T. I also offer accessories such as hats, scarf headbands, bows, and flower crowns. I am always adding new pieces to keep the selection fresh and up-to-date!
How long does a family session last?
Most sessions last 45-60 minutes, giving enough time for guided posing, and in between candid moments.
Do kids have to sit still for photos?
Not at all! I let kids be kids. I combine gentle guidance with movement and play, so we get belly laughs, bear hugs, and all the little moments that make your family yours.
How far in advance should we book?
I recommend booking 4–8 weeks in advance for peak seasons (fall and spring) to ensure your preferred dates and locations.
Are retainers refundable?
Your session fee and signed photo agreement are required to save your date for all sessions. All retainers are non-refundable but are transferable. Final Payments are due 7 days before session date.
When is the best time to schedule maternity photos?
Generally, a maternity photoshoot is best scheduled between 28 to 36 weeks. This is a time frame where your beautiful bump is of sufficient size yet you’re not as uncomfortable.
Do you edit all of your photographs?
Every image that you receive has been hand-edited, one at a time, without batching in bulk or mass producing the results.
How long does it take before we receive our photographs?
Galleries are sent within up to 2-3 weeks but can arrive sooner. Delivery time does not include holidays.
What is your weather policy?
If there is a possibility of rain at the time we are shooting, I will reach out to you to see if you’d like to proceed as scheduled or find my next available date to reschedule.
Here in East TN, the weather changes rapidly. We can wait until 4pm the day of to make the call! If we cancel due to weather without rescheduling, you will receive a 100% refund.
Do we recieve the RAW unedited files?
The RAW unedited files are not available for viewing or purchase. This is very much like asking your caterer to give you the leftovers used to make your dinner. The photographs selected for final editing and delivery reflect my high standards. Rest assured that any photographs not delivered truly ARE outtakes.
Studio accessibility
I want every client to have a great experience. Our in-home studio is upstairs and requires the use of stairs, but I’m always happy to arrange outdoor sessions or photograph at an accessible on-location setting. Please reach out and we’ll find a solution that works for you.
Can extended family join the session?
Sessions celebrate the closeness and connection of your immediate family. Sessions are limited to the immediate family only. Bringing extended family can change the vibe from candid, connected moments to more traditional portraits, which is not the style of sessions offered.
Are outfit changes allowed during sessions?
Sessions do not include outfit changes. Please plan your wardrobe ahead of time and select one look per participant.
